Most Say Political Party Leaders Out of Step With Their Voters

Most voters in both major parties continue to believe their ideological views are moving away from the leaders of their parties.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that just 36% of Likely Republican Voters believe the attitudes of GOP voters remain about the same as those of the party’s leaders. Just as many (36%) say Republican voters are becoming more conservative than the GOP leadership, while 20% think these voters are becoming more liberal.
