42% Favor Congressional Override of Presidential Pardons

Some Democrats were unhappy with President Trump’s recent pardoning of several convicted felons, but voters are closely divided over whether Congress should be able to stop those pardons.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 42% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Congress should be able to overturn presidential pardons that it thinks were unjustified. But slightly more (45%) disagree and say Congress should not have that power. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.
