John Persinger To Give Commencement Speech at Strong Vincent For The Last
Graduating Class
Theme of Speech: “It takes courage to let go of the familiar and embrace the new” (Alan Cohen).
(ERIE, PA) – On Tuesday, June 6th, Republican nominee for Mayor, John Persinger, will deliver the very last
commencement speech at Strong Vincent as the high school prepares to close its doors.
The theme for the commencement is based on a quote by Alan Cohen about change:
“It takes courage to let go of the familiar and embrace the new.”
In a year of turmoil for Erie’s students and their families, Persinger will speak to the graduates about his own
experiences with change: the rejections that he faced coming out of college; and the importance of persevering in the
face of uncertainty.
“I am deeply honored to be given the opportunity to impart words of encouragement and confidence in the last
graduating class of this great school,” said Persinger.
John will be available after the speech for comment.
